Club Pack Private Label Merchandise Select and Development: ·
Risk assess vendors’ food/product safety, quality, and business programs.
Determine (with buying) the viability of vendors for private label.
· Identify, Develop and Direct merchandise private label opportunities in conjunction with Local, Regional and Corporate Buyers. ·
Identify and provide sourcing assistance for current and potential new club pack private label items in Foods and Fresh Categories.
· Establish, oversee and direct product specifications, quality and inspection protocol to company standards. ·
.Perform regular quarterly review of current merchandise mix sales and suggested program enhancements
Project Management: · Create and manage a Club Pack Private Label item merchandise development target list and timelines with on time performance using the private label PLM system.
· Coordinate and Create Buying volume purchasing leverage synergies between Buyers and Suppliers.
· Coordinate with Buyers and Suppliers expected purchasing forecasts and packing needs.
Review and report requires actions on actual vs. forecasted purchases.
· Conduct on site review of supplier’s facilities and abilities with Buyers and Quality Assurance personnel
. Merchandise Development: ·
. Lead the development of new and improved products, from concept to commercialization.
· Manage ingredients and finished product specifications to ensure safety and consistency.
· Manage product design to meet consumer requirements, including identifying product evaluation parameters.
· Manage and report finished product testing to ensure quality and compliance over shelf life.
· Drive projects to optimize product designs, proposing changes based on findings and implementing recommendations.
· Define and managing projects through the use of external resources. Merchandising Packaging:
· Coordinate and manage packaging requirements and consistent “look” for all Private Label items with suppliers, art director and buyers. · Manage packaging timeline activities.
Coordinate with Compliance and Legal to ensure packaging meets all requirements for legal import and sale in operating countries.

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION
· Degree in food science or chemistry preferred.
· 4-7 years of product development experience.
· Regulatory, registration, and labeling experience.
· Proven track record of success in product development process, from concept to commercialization.
· Strong knowledge of food/product safety, ingredient functionality, product evaluation, health and nutrition, food manufacturing processes, microbiology, quality assurance principles, and market research practices.
· Ability to communicate and interact with Buying, Logistics, Art / Label Development, Product Registration / Compliance and Vendors in a professional, positive and pro-active manner.
