Resumen

What is the role?

To support the development and execution of the Mobile Backhaul and Transmission Strategy by defining technical requirements, aligning them with the commercial strategy for mobile services, and ensuring timely and cost-effective implementation. This includes calculating the necessary activities and CAPEX, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and overseeing the execution of transmission and backhaul plans to meet business objectives.

Responsabilidades

What you'll do

- Define technical requirements for Transmission and Backhaul to support mobile services.
- Plan short-term and long-term Transmission and Backhaul strategies, ensuring an efficient upgrade path toward new technologies and network architectures such as 5G.
- Assess Mobile Backhaul capacity planning to meet current and future traffic demands.
- Monitor utilized vs. required capacity, identify potential bottlenecks, and trigger expansion activities when necessary.
- Provide Tier 3 support to Operations and Quality Assurance teams, acting as the SPOC (Single Point of Contact) for complex transmission and backhaul issues.
- Manage baseline configurations by defining default system parameters for Transmission and Backhaul equipment.
- Maintain an up-to-date inventory of Transmission and Backhaul equipment, including component details, locations, and associated operating costs.
- Provide regular reports on Transmission and Backhaul operating costs, including production cost per Mbps.

Calificaciones

Preferred education/ qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Telecommunications, or a comparable technical engineering discipline.
- Cisco certification (e.g., CCNP, CCIE) is considered a strong asset

Knowledge & Experience:

- Ideally educated to degree level, or alternatively, possesses relevant industry experience with 10+ years in planning and engineering operations, either within a telecom operator or a vendor environment.
- Demonstrated experience working in a large telecommunications company within a complex operational environment, managing cross-functional teams.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a customer-focused environment, with a strong appreciation for service quality and responsiveness.

Skills & Abilities:

- Ability to effectively communicate at all levels, translating complex technical language into high-level executive narratives.
- Capable of participating in improvement programs across diverse and complex environments.
- Proven ability to establish and maintain effective internal and external partnerships through a collaborative approach.
- Strong influencing and persuasion skills, encouraging colleagues and teams to challenge established processes and adopt improvements and best practices.
- Demonstrates timeliness in all actions, with a strong focus on quality in both services received and provided.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build strong business relationships across multiple locations.
- Comfortable working in a matrix organization, navigating cross-functional relationships and multiple reporting lines.
- Fluency in English and Spanish is required.
