The Logistics Manager Advisor will provide technical and logistical assistance at the national and regional level to support Supply Chain Management (SCM) strengthening interventions in Panama. The Logistics Manager will support Panama’s Ministry of Health in the activities related to health commodities logistics. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.
Required Skills and Qualifications
• Minimum three years of working experience in supply chain management at a technical or management level (desirable in health commodities).
• Bachelor’s degree in pharmaceutical chemistry, industrial engineering, or information systems; Master’s degree preferred.
• Basic to mid-level background in the use of information technology and used of computerized applications for data processing.
• Experience working in developing countries and/or low-resource settings.
• Skilled in leading and managing a team of logistics managemen
Job Responsibilities
• To work in collaboration with the Ministry of health staff to identify and plan activities to strengthen the logistics management of health commodities, specifically the supply chain of HIV/AIDS commodities.
• Prepare, and updated the Logistics Management Manual as required.
• Prepare Procurement Plans (PP), Procurement Implementation Plans (PIPs) and Procurement Performance Reports (PPR).
• Support the National HIV/AIDS program to develop budgets for strengthening the logistics systems.
• Conduct capacity strengthening sessions to share global and regional LMIS best practices and lessons learned.
• Manage the design, development, and implementation of health and logistics systems.
• Manage the development and implementation of health system training plans.
• Document and track lessons learned to support roll-outs of logistics management information systems.
• Manage development of technical manuals, guidelines, and standard operating procedures for supply chain management operations.
• Inform to GHSC-PSM Central America Regional Manager on the progress in achieving the goals of the project, related to the technical assistance provided to strengthen the health commodity supply chain management.
• Organize, participate and support the activities of national and international technical assistance.
• Support and report on the performance of the indicators of the project in the country.
• Prepare progress reports on the development of activities and general operations in the country.
• Support the development, monitoring and updating of the work plan of SCMS.
• Provide technical assistance in the field to the main recipients.
• Complete other duties assigned by the GHSC-PSM Central America Regional Manager.
